Master of Arts in Education
The degree for experienced educators and education professionals
From targeted education specializations in special education, early-childhood education, and Spanish-language education to general studies in administration and higher-education administration, the Master of Arts in Education from US University will prepare graduates for leadership and administration positions throughout the education profession.
With a focus on curriculum, instruction, assessment, leadership and administration, graduates of the MAED program will learn to apply education and leadership theories and research skills to the promotion of educational accountability and the advancement of student-centered education.

Students may choose one of the following specializations in the MAED program:
Administration and Leadership, K-12 (for Credentialed Teachers with 3 – 5 years classroom
experience)
Early Childhood Education (Teaching Credential not needed)
Higher Education Administration (Teaching Credential not needed)
Special Education (for teachers with Special Education Credential)
Program-Specific Admission Requirements
Have earned the equivalent of a US Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Submit official transcripts from the bachelor degree-awarding institution(s), and any post-bachelor degree institution including any master’s degrees or credits. Programs with undergraduate prerequisites require official transcripts from the originating institution. (Foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated by a University acceptable agency)
Have a Cumulative Undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Masters of Arts in Education the student will be able to:
Write and present scholarly essays and on policy, programs and issues relating to education and education leadership
Apply quantitative and qualitative research to practical problems in education.
Effectively gather, analyze and integrate information to guide practice
Critically analyze the historical, social, economic, and political influences on education institutions and practices.
Identify and analyze social, legal and ethical issues that arise in education practices and institutions
Analyze research and theories exposing inequities in educational access, opportunities and practices; propose solutions to enhance rather than restrict opportunities
Collaborate in a community of practice
